Apple Watch Series 8 Screen Replacement

Apple Watch Series 8 Screen Replacement

£169

Repair Description

Cracked the screen on your Series 8? It's the repair we carry out most. Apple used a crack-resistant front crystal here, but a hard enough impact still breaks it - and because the glass, touch layer and display are bonded together as one sealed piece, even a small crack often causes dead spots where the screen won't respond, or lets moisture in weeks later.

We fit a properly matched replacement for your size and case material, then reseal the watch with fresh waterproof adhesive so it keeps its water and dust protection. Most are finished the same day, and every screen repair is covered by our 12-month warranty.

Apple Watch Series 8 Battery Replacement

Apple Watch Series 8 Battery Replacement

Repair Description

Watch not lasting the day any more? That's simply the battery wearing out, and it's one of our most requested Series 8 repairs. These were built for around 18 hours per charge, but after a few years of daily charging most fall noticeably short. Shutting down at 30%, or draining overnight, are the classic signs.

We fit a certified high-capacity battery, check it's reading correctly and reseal the watch so it stays water-resistant. If you've noticed the screen lifting slightly at one corner, book in sooner rather than later - that's a swollen battery, and it's best dealt with promptly.

Apple Watch Series 8 Charging Repair

Apple Watch Series 8 Charging Repair

£79

Repair Description

Watch won't charge, or only charges if you sit it at a certain angle? Your Series 8 charges wirelessly through the back of the case, so the usual causes are sweat corrosion where the charger makes contact, a worn charging cable, a fault in the charging components inside, or a battery too worn to hold power.

We test the charger, then the cable, then the watch itself in that order - rather than swapping parts and hoping for the best. That way you only pay for what's genuinely at fault. Every charging repair gets a full charge test before it goes back to you.

Apple Watch Series 8 Repair: The Watch That Can Call for Help

Released in September 2022, the Series 8 was a genuine step forward on safety and health. It was one of the first Apple Watches with Crash Detection, which can automatically call emergency services if you’re in a serious car accident. It also added temperature sensing for cycle tracking, alongside Blood Oxygen and ECG.

Those features rely on sensors and motion detectors inside the watch. If your Series 8 has taken a heavy knock, or has been opened up carelessly by someone without the right tools, those systems may not work when you actually need them. It isn’t something you’d notice day to day – which is precisely the problem.

When we repair a Series 8, we test the sensors and motion detection as part of the job rather than as an afterthought. You get your watch back knowing everything works, including the features you hope you’ll never need.

Temperature Readings Stopped? Give It Five Nights

This one saves people an unnecessary booking, so it’s worth explaining properly. The Series 8 measures temperature using two sensors – one in the back of the watch against your skin, and a second just beneath the display to filter out the effect of the surrounding air. Comparing the two is how it gets a usable reading.

Crucially, it only samples while you’re asleep, and it needs around five nights of sleep wearing the watch to establish your personal baseline before it shows anything useful. So if you’ve recently had a repair, changed watches, or simply stopped wearing it overnight for a while, blank temperature data is completely normal – just wear it to bed for five nights.

If you’ve done that and it still isn’t reading, then it’s worth having looked at. Damage to the back panel of the watch is the usual cause, and that’s something we can check for free.

Which Apple Watch Series 8 Do You Have?

Open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap General, then About to find your model number.

Model Size Type
A2770 41mm GPS
A2771 45mm GPS
A2773 41mm GPS + Cellular
A2775 45mm GPS + Cellular

Quick tip: if your Digital Crown has a red ring around it, you’ve got a Cellular model. No red ring means GPS only.

Worth knowing: the Series 8 uses 41mm and 45mm sizes, and the parts differ completely between them. If you’ve been quoted for a 40mm or 44mm screen, that’s for an older watch and won’t fit. Give us your model number and we’ll get it right first time.

Aluminium or Stainless Steel? It Affects the Price

The Series 8 came in two case materials, and they don’t use the same front glass:

  • Aluminium – Ion-X glass. Lighter and more affordable, but the easier of the two to crack
  • Stainless steel – sapphire glass. Considerably tougher against impacts, heavier, and holds its value better

Sapphire screens cost more than Ion-X, so telling us your case material when you book means an accurate price first time. Note that Apple didn’t offer a titanium Series 8 – that option skipped this generation entirely, so if your watch is titanium it’s a Series 7 or a Series 10.

The Problems We Fix Most Often

  • Cracked screens. Number one by a clear margin. Aluminium models break more readily; stainless steel versions have tougher sapphire glass and survive harder knocks.
  • Worn batteries. Very close behind. The always-on display keeps the screen lit for most of the day, which works the battery harder than people expect.
  • Charging faults. Usually sweat and grime building up between the back of the watch and the charger over time.
  • Health readings not working. Blood Oxygen, ECG and temperature all come from sensors in the back of the watch, so damage there is often the reason they’ve stopped.
  • Water getting in. Fine for swimming when new, but the seals stiffen with age. Hot showers, saunas and seawater are where older watches tend to fail.
  • Stiff or stuck Digital Crown. Common among gym users and swimmers, as sweat, chalk and sun cream work their way inside.

What Happens When You Book

  1. Free check. We test the screen, touch, crown, buttons, sound, sensors, motion detection and charging so we find the actual fault – not just the obvious one.
  2. Fixed price. Exact cost and a realistic timescale before we start. Nothing goes ahead without your approval.
  3. The repair. Quality parts, the right tools, and a proper waterproof reseal every time.
  4. Tested again. Full function check and a complete charge cycle before it’s packed up.

Your data is never accessed, and your watch is never wiped without your permission.

Repair or Replace? Our Honest View

Repair, almost every time. Your Series 8 still runs Apple’s current software, watchOS 26, so it’s a fully up-to-date watch that receives new features and security updates just like a brand-new one. Nothing about it is obsolete.

A new screen or battery costs a small fraction of replacing the watch, takes a few days, and saves you the hassle of unpairing, setting everything up again and starting your Activity history over. If you own a stainless steel model, it’s an even easier decision given what those cost new.

We’ll also tell you straight when a repair isn’t the right answer. Severe water damage or a very heavy impact sometimes can’t be fixed reliably, and we’d rather be honest than take your money for a job that won’t hold up.
