Repair Description

Cracked the sapphire front on your Ultra? It takes some doing - Apple recessed the flat sapphire crystal behind a raised titanium border precisely so the metal takes the hit instead of the glass. But a direct impact on rock, a dropped kettlebell or a hard fall can still get through.

Sapphire is a genuinely premium component, and there's no substitute that performs the same way, so the correct part matters enormously here. We fit properly matched sapphire assemblies and reseal your Ultra with fresh waterproof adhesive to restore its water resistance.

Apple Watch Ultra Battery Replacement

Apple Watch Ultra Battery Replacement

£89

Repair Description

The Ultra was built for 36 hours of normal use, stretching to 60 in low power mode - designed for multi-day hikes and long course triathlons. So when an Ultra battery starts fading, owners notice quickly, because the whole point of this watch is not having to think about charging.

If yours is dropping well short of a day and a half, or shutting down unexpectedly during workouts, the battery has likely reached the end of its life. We fit a certified high-capacity replacement, verify the health readings and reseal the case properly afterwards.

Apple Watch Ultra Charging Repair

Apple Watch Ultra Charging Repair

Repair Description

Ultra won't charge, or only charges in one position? These watches take a hammering - sea water, sand, mud, sunscreen and sweat all end up around the back of the case where the charger sits. Corrosion and debris there are the most common causes, followed by a worn charging cable or a battery that can no longer accept power.

We test the charger, then the cable, then the watch itself in that order rather than swapping parts and hoping. You only pay for what has genuinely failed.

Something else wrong? The Ultra has components no other Apple Watch has, and we cover all of them. We regularly fix a seized or unresponsive Action Button, a siren that won't sound, depth gauge and water temperature sensor faults, water damage from sea or pool use, blocked or muffled microphones and speakers, GPS accuracy problems, Blood Oxygen and ECG readings that won't work, a stuck Digital Crown, overheating and cellular signal issues.

We assess your watch thoroughly, identify the real cause, explain it plainly and confirm the full price before starting. If we can't fix it, you don't pay.

Apple Watch Ultra Repair: One Size, One Material, No Guesswork

Released in September 2022, the Apple Watch Ultra came in exactly one size – 49mm – one case material, titanium, and one connectivity option, GPS + Cellular. Every single one has a flat sapphire crystal front and an orange Action Button. There are no variants to confuse, no aluminium versus steel question, and no size mix-ups.

What makes the Ultra different is what it was built to survive. Apple tested it to military durability standards, rated it to 100 metres of water resistance rather than 50, certified it for recreational scuba diving to 40 metres, and gave it a depth gauge, a water temperature sensor, an 86-decibel emergency siren and dual-frequency GPS. It’s a piece of outdoor equipment that happens to tell the time.

That changes the repair job entirely. An Ultra coming in for repair has usually lived a harder life than any Series watch, and it needs sealing to a far higher standard afterwards.

Honest Advice About Diving After Any Screen Repair

Apple is clear that water resistance on the Apple Watch is not a permanent condition and diminishes over time. Crucially, once a watch has been opened, its original dive certification cannot be formally re-established – not by us, and not by Apple either.

So here’s our position, stated plainly:

  • After a screen or battery replacement, we reseal your Ultra with fresh waterproof adhesive and pressure-test it, restoring water resistance for swimming, showering, watersports and everyday wet conditions.
  • We will not tell you it’s safe to scuba dive to 40 metres afterwards, because nobody can honestly certify that once the case has been opened.

If you dive seriously with your Ultra and rely on the depth gauge as dive equipment, you need to know that. Any repairer who promises to restore full dive certification is telling you what you want to hear. We’d rather be straight with you and let you make an informed decision.

For the overwhelming majority of Ultra owners – hikers, runners, swimmers, cyclists, open-water swimmers – a properly resealed watch is entirely fit for purpose.

Which Apple Watch Ultra Do You Have?

Open the Watch app on your iPhone, tap General, then About to find your model number.

Model Size Type Sold in
A2684 49mm GPS + Cellular UK, Europe, Asia Pacific
A2622 49mm GPS + Cellular North America

Worth knowing: if your Ultra shows A2622, it’s a US model. We repair these perfectly happily – but it’s useful to know, because imported models can behave differently on UK mobile networks and won’t have been covered by a UK Apple warranty.

Telling an Ultra from an Ultra 2: they look virtually identical. The Ultra 2 has a brighter screen and supports Double Tap, the pinch gesture. If your watch has Double Tap in Settings, you have an Ultra 2 or newer.

The Action Button: A Fault Unique to the Ultra

That orange button on the left side is the Ultra’s signature feature – a physical, customisable button for starting workouts, marking dive segments, triggering the torch or logging waypoints.

It’s also a moving part on a watch that gets taken into the sea, up mountains and through mud. Salt crystals, fine sand and dried sunscreen work into the button housing over time, and the usual result is a button that feels gritty, needs pressing hard, or stops responding altogether.

It’s one of the more common Ultra-specific repairs we handle. Sometimes a thorough clean resolves it; sometimes the button assembly needs replacing. We’ll tell you which after checking it, and the assessment is free either way.

The Problems We Fix Most Often

  • Salt water damage. Far more common on the Ultra than any Series watch, simply because of how these get used. Sea water is considerably more corrosive than pool water, and rinsing with fresh water after every swim genuinely matters.
  • Worn batteries. The most frequent repair on Ultras now reaching three or four years old. Owners notice quickly because the long battery life is the whole point of this watch.
  • Action Button faults. Sand, salt and sunscreen are the usual culprits.
  • Cracked sapphire. Less common than on aluminium Series models thanks to the raised titanium border, but a direct impact will still do it.
  • Charging problems. Debris and corrosion around the back of the case where the charger makes contact.
  • Blocked microphones and speakers. Water and grit in the speaker ports leave calls sounding muffled, and can stop the siren working properly.
  • Depth gauge or temperature sensor faults. These rely on a sensor exposed to the outside, so damage or blockage there stops readings.

What Happens When You Book

  1. Free check. We test the screen, touch, Digital Crown, Action Button, side button, siren, microphones, speakers, sensors, depth gauge and charging, and give you the battery health figures.
  2. Fixed price. Exact cost and a realistic timescale before we start. Nothing goes ahead without your approval.
  3. The repair. Quality parts, correct tools, and a proper waterproof reseal every time.
  4. Tested again. Full function check, pressure test and a complete charge cycle before it’s packed up.

Your data is never accessed, and your watch is never wiped without your permission.

Repair or Replace? Our Honest View

Repair, and it isn’t close. The Ultra was a premium purchase, it’s built from titanium and sapphire, and it still runs Apple’s current software, watchOS 26 – so you get new features and security updates exactly like a brand-new watch.

Replacing an Ultra because of a flat battery or a seized Action Button would be a genuinely poor decision. A targeted repair costs a small fraction of a replacement and returns the watch to full working order.

The only situations where we’d advise against repair are severe salt water damage that has spread through the internals, or catastrophic impact damage. In those cases we’ll tell you honestly rather than take the job.
