iPhone 17 Pro Max Repairs, Handled Properly

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is one of the most expensive handsets Apple has ever put on sale, and that changes the maths when something goes wrong with it. A cracked panel or a tired battery is never a reason to write off a phone worth well over a thousand pounds. It is, however, a very good reason to have the work done by people who repair these devices every week rather than the cheapest quote you can find. We work on Pro Max handsets constantly at our Essex repair centre, and we would rather explain honestly what your repair involves than sell you something you do not need.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Screen Replacement (£299)

Pro Max screens are the most expensive panel Apple produces, and there is no way around that. The display is a large high refresh rate OLED with Ceramic Shield glass bonded directly to it, which means the glass and the panel are a single assembly. When the glass cracks, the panel goes with it. Anyone offering to replace only the outer glass on a Pro Max at a suspiciously low price is either fitting a refurbished assembly or performing a glass-only reglaze, and neither reliably survives a second knock.

Symptoms that usually mean a full screen replacement:

• Visible cracks, spiderwebbing, or chipped corners after a drop
• Dead zones where the touchscreen ignores your finger
• Green, pink, or white lines running down the display
• Black patches or ink-like bleeding that spreads over a few days
• Ghost touch, where the phone registers taps you did not make

One thing many shops will not mention: modern iPhones pair the display to the logic board, so a replacement can trigger a notice in Settings and may affect True Tone unless the original display data is transferred across. iPhone 17 Pro Max Battery Replacement (£99)

Battery capacity fades with every charge cycle. That is chemistry, not a fault, and a Pro Max that has been through a couple of years of daily charging will hold noticeably less than it did new. You can check yours under Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging.

Signs your battery is due:

• Maximum capacity has dropped below roughly 80 percent
• The phone shuts down suddenly, often in the cold, with charge still showing
• Charge level jumps erratically, for example 40 percent straight to 15 percent
• The handset runs warm during ordinary use
• Performance feels throttled compared with a few months ago

Before you book, it is worth checking whether the drain is the battery or something running in the background. If your Pro Max is also getting uncomfortably hot, phone overheating is worth reading too, since heat accelerates battery degradation and sometimes points at a different fault entirely.

iPhone 17 Pro Max Back Glass Replacement (£95)

Back glass is the repair most high street shops quietly turn away, and there is a reason for that. On current iPhones the rear glass is bonded to the frame with structural adhesive, and removing it cleanly requires a laser separator rather than heat and patience. Done badly, you end up with damaged wireless charging coils, a compromised MagSafe magnet array, or glass fragments inside the camera housing.

We have the equipment to do this properly. It matters more than people expect, because a cracked rear panel is not just cosmetic:

• Shards work loose and scratch the camera lenses from the inside
• Moisture and dust get past the seal and reach the logic board
• Wireless and MagSafe charging can become intermittent
• Resale and trade-in values drop sharply

iPhone 17 Pro Max Charging Port Repair (£89)

A Pro Max that will not charge is not always a broken port. The single most common cause we see is compacted pocket lint sitting at the bottom of the USB-C connector, stopping the cable seating fully. That is a five minute clean, not an 89 pound repair, and we will tell you if that is all it needs.

Genuine port failure usually looks like this: the cable only works at a particular angle, charging cuts in and out when you move the phone, the connector feels loose, or data transfer fails while charging still works. iPhone 17 Pro Max Camera Repair (£129)

The Pro Max camera system is the main reason many people buy this model, so a fault here is more than an inconvenience. We repair both the modules and the protective lens covers, which are separate jobs at different costs.

• Blurry or soft images across every mode, often after a drop
• A rattling or grinding sound as optical stabilisation fails
• Cracked lens cover glass with the module underneath still sound
• Black screen in the Camera app, or the app crashing on launch
• One lens working while the ultra-wide or telephoto does not

Not Sure What Is Wrong? Diagnostics from £15

Some faults do not announce themselves. Random restarts, unexplained battery drain, no signal, distorted audio, or a phone that will not power on at all can each have several possible causes. Rather than guess, we run a full diagnostic for 15 pounds and give you a straight answer, with the fee deducted if you proceed with the repair. Water damage is the one category where an honest shop cannot quote before opening the phone. Corrosion spreads unpredictably and a handset that powers on today can fail next week. We assess it, clean the board, and tell you plainly whether the repair is economic. How Long Does an iPhone 17 Pro Max Repair Take?

Most in-store repairs are done the same day, typically within one to three hours, and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are usually completed within eight to twelve hours of arriving at the workshop and returned by tracked delivery, with most customers receiving their phone back within two to three working days. Send-back delivery is free.

Board-level work, water damage, and firmware faults take longer because they involve diagnosis rather than a straight part swap. We will contact you with a realistic timescale before we start, and we will not proceed past the agreed cost without asking you first.

Every Repair Includes a 12 Month Warranty

All eligible repairs carry a 12 month warranty covering both the replacement part and the labour involved. If a fault develops that relates directly to the work we carried out, bring it back and we will inspect it and put it right at no cost. The warranty does not cover new accidental damage, liquid damage, or unrelated faults that were not part of the original repair, and third party work carried out afterwards will void it. We would rather set that out clearly now than argue about it later.
