Galaxy S26 Ultra Repairs

The S26 Ultra is the most expensive phone Samsung makes and the most involved of its handsets to repair. Large bonded AMOLED panel, an S Pen slot cut through the chassis, and a camera array that costs more to replace than most phones’ screens. We work on these in-house at our Essex repair centre rather than sending them elsewhere.

Prices: screen £249, camera £149, back glass £85, battery £85, charging £79, diagnostics £15.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Screen Replacement (£249)

The display is an AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass and replaced as a complete assembly. Glass-only repair is not a realistic option on a bonded Samsung flagship panel, whatever a cheaper quote implies.

  • Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
  • Dead zones where touch no longer registers
  • Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
  • Black or discoloured patches spreading over days
  • Ghost touches occurring with nobody holding the phone

Two things specific to Samsung flagships are worth knowing. First, a vertical line appearing on an AMOLED panel with no drop behind it is a known failure mode across the Galaxy range, sometimes showing up after a software update rather than any impact. It is a hardware fault in the panel and it does not resolve itself. Read phone screen flickering if that matches yours.

Second, the fingerprint reader sits under the display. A screen replacement means the sensor has to be correctly seated and tested afterwards, and a badly fitted panel leaves you with a phone that unlocks unreliably. We check it before the phone goes back to you. Full detail on our Samsung screen repair page.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera Repair (£149)

This is the most expensive camera repair we quote on any phone, folding models included, and the reason is the hardware. The Ultra carries the most complex rear array Samsung builds, including a long optical zoom that uses a folded lens arrangement sitting differently in the housing to a conventional module. Alignment matters, and it is worth having done by someone who has done it before.

  • Cracked outer lens cover with the modules beneath undamaged
  • Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
  • Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
  • Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
  • The zoom lens dead while the main and ultra-wide still work

That last symptom is the one specific to Ultra models, and it is worth diagnosing properly rather than replacing the whole array. A cracked lens cover over healthy modules is a far cheaper job, and we always establish which you have. Where nothing was dropped, phone camera not working covers the software side.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Battery Replacement (£85)

A large, bright, high refresh display draws steadily, and Ultra owners tend to use these phones hard. Check yours under Settings, then Battery and device care.

  • Capacity noticeably down on where it started
  • Sudden shutdowns with charge still showing
  • Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
  • The handset warm during undemanding use
  • Needing a charger by mid-afternoon

Rule out software before paying for hardware, because background activity and a recent update can both imitate a failing cell. Our guide on why a phone battery drains so fast works through it, and Samsung battery replacement has pricing across the range. If the phone runs hot, phone overheating is worth reading.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Back Glass Replacement (£85)

Bonded rear glass removed with a laser separator rather than heat and prying tools. On a large flagship there is more bonded surface area than on a compact phone, which makes clean removal harder and is why quotes for this job vary so wildly elsewhere.

  • Loose fragments scratch the camera lenses from behind
  • The moisture seal fails as soon as the glass cracks
  • Wireless charging becomes intermittent
  • Trade-in value drops by more than the repair costs

Our cracked back glass guide covers why home kits make things worse.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Charging Repair (£79)

Most Galaxy handsets brought to us for charging problems need cleaning, not repairing. Compacted lint in the USB-C socket stops the cable seating fully, and we check that before quoting anything.

Genuine port failure means charging that works only at one angle, cuts out when the phone moves, a loose connector, or charging that works while data transfer does not. Try another cable and plug, then read why a phone will not charge. Our Samsung charging repair page explains the work.

S Pen Faults

The S Pen slots into the body, which means the silo is a hole cut through an otherwise sealed chassis and a known route for dust and moisture. If the pen no longer registers, will not eject, or the phone stops detecting it being removed, that is usually the silo assembly or its connector rather than the pen itself. We diagnose it individually.

Water Damage and Unclear Faults

The S26 Ultra carries a water resistance rating, but ratings are set with the phone factory-fresh and undamaged. A dropped handset, a cracked back or a worn S Pen silo all compromise it, and we would not rely on it after any of those.

Liquid damage is assessed rather than quoted. Corrosion spreads unpredictably and the honest answer only comes once the board is open and cleaned. See phone water damage repair, and phone data recovery if what matters is the contents. Anything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you proceed, and phone keeps restarting is a sensible first read.

Turnaround, Warranty and Booking

In-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned tracked, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days. Send-back postage is free and Klarna is available at checkout.

Every eligible repair carries a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. Faults relating to our work are put right at no cost. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded.

Book online through our Essex repair centre page, call 07939 990557, or contact us.

We also repair the Galaxy S26 Plus, Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S25 Ultra, with the full range on our Samsung repairs page.

Galaxy S26 Ultra Repairs: Questions We Get Asked

Why is the S26 Ultra camera repair £149 when other Galaxy cameras are half that?

Because it is the most complex rear array Samsung builds. The Ultra carries a long optical zoom using a folded lens arrangement that sits differently in the housing to a conventional module, and alignment matters. It is the most expensive camera repair we quote on any phone, folding models included, and that figure is the hardware rather than the labour.

My S26 Ultra zoom lens has stopped working but the others are fine. Do I need the whole array?

Often not. On Ultra models each lens can fail independently, so a dead telephoto alongside a working main and ultra-wide usually means one module. That is considerably cheaper than replacing everything and it is exactly the sort of fault worth diagnosing properly. Bring it in and we will establish what has actually failed before quoting.

My S Pen will not eject from my S26 Ultra. Is that the pen or the phone?

Almost always the silo rather than the pen. The S Pen slot is a hole cut through an otherwise sealed chassis, which makes it a known route for dust and moisture, and the assembly wears from thousands of insertions. Bring the pen in with the phone so we can test both together, and we quote silo work individually after a diagnostic.

Does the S Pen slot affect the S26 Ultra water resistance?

It is the weak point, yes. The silo is an opening in a chassis that is otherwise sealed, so a worn or debris-filled slot compromises the rating. The same applies after any drop or if the back glass has cracked. Ratings also cover fresh water rather than sea water, and liquid damage is never covered by manufacturer warranty.

Will replacing the S26 Ultra screen break my fingerprint reader?

Not when it is fitted correctly. The reader sits beneath the display, so the replacement panel has to be seated precisely and the sensor tested afterwards. A rushed fitting is why people end up unlocking their phone three or four times before it registers. We test the fingerprint sensor on every Galaxy before it goes back to you.

Is it worth repairing an S26 Ultra or claiming on insurance?

Check your excess before starting a claim. Most policies carry an excess between £75 and £150 on a flagship, so a £85 battery almost never justifies a claim and a £249 screen often only just breaks even once you account for the premium at renewal. Tell us your excess and we will give you a straight answer either way.
