- Pixel 9 Pro XL screen replacement: £199
- Pixel 9 Pro XL camera repair: £99
- Pixel 9 Pro XL battery replacement: £79
- Pixel 9 Pro XL charging port repair: £75
- Pixel 9 Pro XL diagnostic service: £15, deducted from the repair cost if you proceed
The Pixel 9 Pro XL is the large flagship of its generation. Its screen costs the same £199 as the smaller Pixel 9 Pro, but its battery and charging repairs cost slightly more because both components are physically larger.
How much does a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL screen replacement cost?
A Google Pixel 9 Pro XL screen replacement costs £199 at iExpert Repairs. The panel is a large high brightness OLED bonded beneath toughened glass and is replaced as a complete assembly, because the glass and display are laminated together.
- Cracks running from an edge or corner impact
- Dead zones where the touchscreen no longer registers
- Green, pink or white vertical lines down the panel
- Black or discoloured patches spreading over several days
- Ghost touches, where the phone registers taps you did not make
Large phones crack differently from small ones. A bigger panel flexes further across its length during an impact, which is why XL handsets typically crack from an edge where a compact phone cracks from a corner. See our Google Pixel screen repair page for the process, including the under-display fingerprint sensor testing we do afterwards.
Why do large phones like the Pixel 9 Pro XL break more easily?
A larger phone carries more mass into the point of impact and flexes further across its length, so the same drop that leaves a compact handset scuffed will crack an XL panel. The Pixel 9 Pro XL is also genuinely two-handed for most people, which changes when accidents happen.
The drops we see on XL handsets are rarely from pocket height. They happen mid-task, from standing, usually while the owner was reaching for something else, which means a harder landing and more comprehensive damage.
- A case with raised corners matters more on a large phone than a small one
- A raised bezel around the camera bar stops the array taking the impact face-up
- Check any tempered glass protector is rated for an under-display fingerprint reader
- Avoid back pockets, where a long chassis flexes when you sit down
That protector point catches people out regularly. If your fingerprint reader became unreliable shortly after fitting a screen protector, the protector is very likely the cause rather than the phone. Peel it off and test before booking anything.
How much is a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL battery replacement?
A Google Pixel 9 Pro XL battery replacement costs £79 at iExpert Repairs and is usually completed the same day. That is £10 more than the smaller Pixel 9 Pro, purely because the XL takes a physically larger cell.
- Capacity noticeably below where it started, shown under Settings, Battery
- Endurance feeling ordinary rather than good
- The phone shutting down suddenly with charge still displayed
- Charge dropping in steps rather than falling smoothly
- The handset running warm during light use
Because the XL ships with a large battery, degradation stays invisible for a long time and then seems to arrive all at once. A large cell also masks software drain for longer, so it is worth eliminating that first. See our guide on why a phone battery drains so fast, and our Google Pixel battery replacement page for pricing. If it runs hot, read phone overheating.
Why is my Google Pixel 9 Pro XL not charging?
Most Google Pixel 9 Pro XL handsets that will not charge do not need a new port. Compacted pocket lint in the USB-C socket stops the cable seating fully, and clearing that is not a chargeable repair at iExpert Repairs. A genuine Pixel 9 Pro XL charging port repair costs £75.
The port has actually failed if charging works only at a particular angle, cuts out when the phone is moved, the connector feels loose, or charging works while data transfer does not. Try a different cable and mains plug first. See why a phone will not charge, and our Google Pixel charging repair page.
How much does a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL camera repair cost?
A Google Pixel 9 Pro XL camera repair costs £99. Camera work splits into replacing a cracked outer lens cover and replacing the module underneath, and we establish which you need before quoting rather than defaulting to the expensive option.
- Cracked lens cover with the camera modules beneath undamaged
- Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
- Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
- The Camera app opening to a black screen or crashing on launch
- The telephoto lens dead while the main and ultra-wide still work
On a phone this large the camera bar takes considerable force when the handset lands face up, so cracked cover glass over healthy modules is common and much cheaper to fix than it appears. Where nothing was dropped, phone camera not working covers the software checks.
Can a water damaged Google Pixel 9 Pro XL be repaired?
A water damaged Google Pixel 9 Pro XL is assessed rather than quoted, because corrosion spreads unpredictably and an honest price only emerges once the board is open and cleaned. The water resistance rating describes the phone factory-fresh and undamaged, tested in fresh water, and does not survive a drop that has broken the seal. Liquid damage is never covered by manufacturer warranty.
See our phone water damage repair page, and phone data recovery if recovering photographs matters more than saving the handset.
How long does a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL repair take?
Most Google Pixel 9 Pro XL repairs are completed within one to three hours in store on the same day, and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned by tracked delivery, with most customers receiving the phone within two to three working days. Send-back postage is free and Klarna is available at checkout.
Where can I get a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL repaired?

Pixel 9 Pro XL Repairs: Common Questions
Why is the Pixel 9 Pro XL battery dearer than the Pixel 9 Pro battery?
Because it is a physically larger cell. The XL costs £79 against £69 for the smaller Pro, and that £10 is the part cost passed straight through rather than a premium for the model. The labour involved is broadly the same on both. Screens happen to be identical at £199 because both use the same panel technology at different sizes with similar sourcing costs.
Is a Pixel 9 Pro XL harder to repair than a smaller Pixel?
Not harder, but less forgiving. A larger panel has more bonded surface area and more length to flex, so it needs careful handling during removal and fitting. The internal layout is otherwise similar. What genuinely differs is how these phones break, with edge cracks far more common than the corner cracks you see on compact handsets.
My fingerprint reader stopped working after fitting a screen protector. Is the phone broken?
Almost certainly not. The Pixel 9 Pro XL fingerprint sensor reads through the display, and a thick or poor quality protector can stop it working reliably or entirely. An air bubble underneath causes intermittent failures too. Peel the protector off and test before booking anything. If it works again you have found the problem and it cost you nothing.
Should I use a case on a Pixel 9 Pro XL?
On a phone this size, yes, and specifically one with raised corners and a raised bezel around the camera bar. Large phones carry more mass into an impact and are two-handed devices, so the drops that damage them happen from standing height mid-task rather than from a pocket. Raised corners absorb exactly the kind of landing that cracks an XL panel.
Can you repair a Pixel 9 Pro XL that will not switch on?
Usually. A Pixel that appears completely dead most often has a failed battery, a charging fault that let it fully discharge, or a display fault where the phone is running but showing nothing. All three are repairable. Our diagnostic is £15 and comes off the repair cost if you go ahead, so you are not paying twice simply to find out what is wrong.
Do you repair Google Pixel phones by post across the UK?
Yes. We run a nationwide mail-in repair service with free send-back delivery. You book online, post the handset to us, and it returns by tracked delivery once the work is finished. Mail-in Pixel repairs are usually completed within eight to twelve hours of arriving, and most customers have the phone back within two to three working days.
