Does the Pixel 3a have a headphone socket, and can you repair it?

Yes to both. The Pixel 3a brought the headphone socket back after Google removed it on the Pixel 2, and it is repairable rather than something you have to live with.

• A socket gone crackly, or quiet on one side
• Plugs that no longer click in securely
• Audio cutting out when the cable is moved
• The phone not detecting headphones being plugged in at all

Headphone sockets collect pocket lint exactly as charging ports do, and after this many years a great many crackly ones simply need cleaning. Try a different pair of headphones first to rule out the cable, then bring it in.

Does a Pixel 3a screen replacement affect the fingerprint reader?

No. The Google Pixel 3a has its fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone rather than under the display, so a screen replacement cannot affect it. No screen protector can interfere with it either, and it reads wet or cold fingers better than an under-display sensor would.

If yours has stopped responding, re-register the fingerprint and check a thick case is not sitting proud of the sensor. Both are free to try.

Why is my Google Pixel 3a not charging?
