• Pixel 4a 5G screen replacement: £135
• Pixel 4a 5G camera repair: £59
• Pixel 4a 5G battery replacement: £59
• Pixel 4a 5G charging port repair: £59
• Pixel 4a 5G diagnostic service: £15, deducted from the repair cost if you proceed

The Pixel 4a 5G is the larger, better specified version of the Pixel 4a, and it shares that phone’s two best repair characteristics: a rear fingerprint sensor and a headphone socket, both of which are more useful than they sound when something goes wrong.

Is the Pixel 4a 5G the same phone as the Pixel 4a?

No. The Google Pixel 4a and Pixel 4a 5G are different phones with different parts, despite the near identical name. The 4a 5G has a larger display, a second rear camera and its own display assembly, which is why its screen costs £135 against £85 for the standard 4a.

That £50 difference catches people out, so check under Settings, About phone before ringing round for quotes anywhere. A price for one tells you nothing reliable about the other. If you are unsure, bring it in and we will identify it in seconds.

How much does a Google Pixel 4a 5G screen replacement cost?

A Google Pixel 4a 5G screen replacement costs £135 at iExpert Repairs. The panel is a flat OLED display bonded beneath toughened glass and is replaced as a complete assembly, because the glass and display are laminated together.

• Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
• Dead zones where the touchscreen no longer registers
• Green, pink or white vertical lines down the panel
• Black or discoloured patches spreading over several days
• A faint permanent ghost of the status bar, which is screen burn rather than damage

Screen burn is common on OLED panels of this age. It cannot be repaired, only replaced, and plenty of owners live with it rather than spend £135. We will tell you honestly if that is all yours has. See our Google Pixel screen repair page for the process.

Does a Pixel 4a 5G screen replacement affect the fingerprint reader?

No. The Google Pixel 4a 5G has its fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone rather than under the display, so a screen replacement cannot affect it.

• A screen replacement has no effect on the fingerprint reader
• No screen protector can ever interfere with it
• It reads wet or cold fingers better than an under-display sensor
• If it fails, it is a separate and cheaper job than anything involving the panel

If yours has stopped responding, re-register the fingerprint and check a thick case is not sitting proud of the sensor. Both are free to try and account for most complaints on rear sensors.

How much is a Google Pixel 4a 5G battery replacement?

A Google Pixel 4a 5G battery replacement costs £59 at iExpert Repairs and is usually completed the same day. On a handset of this age it is nearly always the repair worth having.

• Capacity noticeably below where it started, shown under Settings, Battery
• Lasting only a few hours on ordinary use
• Shutting down without warning, particularly in cold weather
• Charge collapsing in large steps rather than falling smoothly
• The phone feeling slow as well as short on charge

Rule out software before paying for hardware. Our guide on why a phone battery drains so fast covers the checks, and our Google Pixel battery replacement page lists pricing. If the phone runs hot, read phone overheating.

Can you repair the headphone socket on a Pixel 4a 5G?

Yes. The Pixel 4a 5G is one of the last Pixels with a headphone socket, and it is repairable rather than something you have to live with.

• A socket gone crackly, or quiet on one side
• Plugs that no longer click in securely
• Audio cutting out when the cable is moved
• The phone not detecting headphones being plugged in at all

Headphone sockets collect pocket lint exactly as charging ports do, and many crackly ones simply need cleaning. Try a different pair of headphones first to rule out the cable, then bring it in. We quote this work individually after a diagnostic.

Why is my Google Pixel 4a 5G not charging?

Most Google Pixel 4a 5G handsets that will not charge do not need a new port. On a phone this old expect a USB-C socket packed with years of compacted lint, and clearing that is not a chargeable repair at iExpert Repairs. A genuine Pixel 4a 5G charging port repair costs £59.

Change the cable and mains plug first, because worn cables cause more of these faults than broken ports do. See why a phone will not charge, and our Google Pixel charging repair page.

How much does a Google Pixel 4a 5G camera repair cost?

A Google Pixel 4a 5G camera repair costs £59. Unlike the standard 4a, this model carries a second rear lens, so a fault affecting one lens while the other works normally is possible and worth diagnosing properly.

• Cracked lens cover with the modules beneath undamaged
• Blurry images, which is very often just a dirty lens
• The Camera app opening to a black screen or crashing on launch
• Focus hunting continuously without settling
• The ultra-wide lens dead while the main lens works normally

Clean the lens with a microfibre cloth before booking anything. Where nothing was dropped, phone camera not working covers the software checks.

Is a Google Pixel 4a 5G still worth repairing?

On a single fault, yes. A £59 battery on an otherwise sound handset transforms daily use for very little, and the plastic body means many have survived in better condition than glass-backed rivals of the same age.

Liquid damage is where it stops adding up on a phone of this value, and we will say so plainly rather than charging you to find out. In that case phone data recovery is usually the service that genuinely helps. See our phone water damage repair page for how we assess these.

How long does a Google Pixel 4a 5G repair take?

Most Google Pixel 4a 5G repairs are completed within one to three hours in store on the same day, and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned by tracked delivery, with most customers receiving the phone within two to three working days. Send-back postage is free and Klarna is available at checkout.
