Galaxy A54 5G Repairs from £55

The A54 was one of the best selling Android phones in the UK, and it is comfortably the A-series handset we see most of. Screen £79, and back panel, camera, battery and charging all £55.

Because we repair so many, we know what actually goes wrong with them rather than what a parts catalogue suggests might. Batteries first, by a wide margin. Screens second. Charging complaints third, most of which turn out not to need a repair at all.

Galaxy A54 5G Battery Replacement (£55)

This is the repair the A54 needs more than any other. These phones were bought in enormous numbers a few years ago, kept rather than upgraded, and their batteries are now reaching the end of their useful capacity while everything else remains perfectly good.

• Capacity noticeably below where it started, under Settings then Battery and device care
• Not lasting the day where it once managed comfortably
• Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed, worse in cold weather
• Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
• The handset warm during light use

At £55 on a phone still worth considerably more than that, this is one of the easiest decisions on our whole price list. Eliminate software first, because replacing a healthy cell fixes nothing. Galaxy A54 5G Screen Replacement (£79)

A Super AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass, replaced as a complete assembly. The A54’s display is genuinely good for the money, which is a large part of why repairing one beats replacing it with a cheaper handset.

• Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
• Dead zones where touch no longer registers
• Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
• Black or discoloured patches spreading over days
• Ghost touches occurring unprompted

The vertical line appears on Galaxy AMOLED panels with no drop and no water, frequently just after a software update, and owners wait for a patch that never arrives. It is a hardware failure, it widens over weeks, and only a new panel clears it. Read phone screen flickering if that matches yours.

Galaxy A54 5G Charging Repair (£55)

Most A54s brought to us for charging problems do not need a new port. They need compacted lint clearing from the USB-C socket so the cable can seat fully, and that is not a chargeable repair here. We check it before quoting anything.

Genuine port failure means charging that works only at one angle, cuts out when the phone is moved, a connector that feels loose, or charging that works while data transfer refuses. Galaxy A54 5G Rear Panel Replacement (£55)

The rear panel is bonded to the frame and removed with a laser separator rather than heat and prying tools. Damage here is worth fixing rather than living with.

• Loose fragments or debris reaching the camera lenses from behind
• The moisture seal compromised once the panel is damaged
• Sharp edges where a panel has cracked or split
• Resale and trade-in value dropping noticeably

Galaxy A54 5G Camera Repair (£55)

The A54 uses individual lens rings standing proud of the body rather than a single shared housing, so each lens takes direct impacts and cracks on its own. Replacing one cracked ring costs far less than a whole array, which usually makes this cheaper than people expect.

• Cracked lens cover on one lens with the others undamaged
• Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• Focus hunting continuously without settling
• Ultra-wide dead while the main lens works normally

Repair or Replace? A Straight Answer

Mid-range phones deserve a proper answer to this rather than a sales pitch, so here is ours.

• A £55 battery on a sound A54 is always worth doing
• A £79 screen on an otherwise healthy phone is comfortably worth it
• Both together still costs well under what a replacement would
• Three separate faults at once is where it becomes marginal
• Serious liquid damage is usually where it stops adding up

Water Damage and Unclear Faults

The A54 carries a water resistance rating, but that describes the phone factory-fresh and undamaged. After a drop or a cracked rear panel the seal is compromised, and ratings cover fresh water rather than sea water.
