Galaxy S23 Plus Repairs

The S23 Plus is a quietly sensible phone and one of the better value Galaxy handsets to keep running. A screen is £155 against £199 for the S23 Ultra of the same year, largely because the Plus uses a flat panel while the Ultra kept curved edges. Flat displays are cheaper to make and considerably harder to break.

All work is carried out at our Essex repair centre with a twelve month warranty on parts and labour.

Galaxy S23 Plus Screen Replacement (£155)

A large flat AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass, replaced as a complete assembly. The flat design genuinely helps: on a curved screen the glass wraps around the edge, so there is display exactly where the phone lands, whereas a flat panel lets the frame take the hit.

  • Cracks running from an edge or corner impact
  • Dead zones where touch no longer registers
  • Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
  • Black or discoloured patches spreading over several days
  • Ghost touches occurring unprompted

The vertical line is the fault people most often get wrong. On Galaxy AMOLED panels a line can appear with no drop behind it, frequently just after a software update, which persuades owners it is a bug awaiting a patch. It is hardware, it spreads, and no update will clear it. Read phone screen flickering if that matches yours.

The fingerprint reader sits under the display, so a replacement panel must be seated correctly and the sensor tested afterwards. We check it before the phone goes back. More on our Samsung screen repair page.

Galaxy S23 Plus Battery Replacement (£59)

On a phone of this age this is usually the repair that matters most. The Plus was bought for the endurance a bigger chassis allows, and a degraded cell takes that advantage straight back.

  • Capacity noticeably below where it started
  • Endurance feeling ordinary rather than good
  • Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed
  • Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
  • The handset warm during undemanding use

A large cell masks software drain for a long time, so eliminating those causes first is worthwhile. Our guide on why a phone battery drains so fast covers them, and Samsung battery replacement has pricing. If it runs hot, read phone overheating.

Galaxy S23 Plus Back Glass Replacement (£59)

Bonded rear glass removed with a laser separator. A larger phone means a larger bonded surface area, which makes clean removal harder, and the wireless charging coil beneath will not survive heat and prying tools.

  • Loose fragments scratch the camera lenses from behind
  • The moisture seal fails as soon as the glass cracks
  • Wireless charging becomes intermittent
  • Trade-in value drops by more than the repair costs

Our cracked back glass guide explains why home kits fail.

Galaxy S23 Plus Charging Repair (£55)

On a phone this age expect a USB-C socket packed with compacted lint, which is very often the whole problem rather than a failed port. Clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.

Genuine failure means charging at one angle only, cutting out when the phone moves, a connector that feels loose, or charging that works while data transfer does not. Try another cable and mains plug, then read why a phone will not charge. Our Samsung charging repair page covers the replacement.

Galaxy S23 Plus Camera Repair (£69)

The S23 generation moved to individual lens rings standing proud of the body rather than a single shared housing. That means each lens takes direct impacts and cracks individually, which is often good news: replacing one cracked ring is far cheaper than a whole array.

  • Cracked lens cover on one lens with the others undamaged
  • Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
  • Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
  • Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
  • Ultra-wide or telephoto dead while the main lens works

We establish which you need rather than quoting a module by default. Where nothing was dropped, phone camera not working covers software causes.

Is an S23 Plus Still Worth Repairing?

A fair question on a phone of this age, and the answer is usually yes, but it depends on what it needs.

A single repair almost always makes sense. A £59 battery on an otherwise healthy S23 Plus buys you another couple of years of a phone that still handles everything most people do. A £155 screen on a handset with no other problems is likewise straightforward.

  • One repair on a sound phone: nearly always worth doing
  • Battery alone: the best value repair we offer on this model
  • Screen plus battery together: still comfortably cheaper than replacing
  • Three or more separate faults: worth a proper conversation first
  • Serious liquid damage: usually the point where it stops adding up

Where it gets marginal is a phone needing several things at once, or one that has already had water in it. We will tell you plainly when that is the case rather than quoting for everything and letting you work it out afterwards. Losing the job is better than taking your money for a phone that disappoints you a month later.

Water Damage and Unclear Faults

The S23 Plus has a water resistance rating, but that describes the phone factory-fresh and undamaged, and on a handset this age the seals are past their best regardless. Ratings also cover fresh water rather than sea water, which matters locally.

Liquid damage is assessed rather than quoted. See phone water damage repair, and phone data recovery if the contents matter more than the handset. Anything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you proceed, and phone keeps restarting is a good first read.

Turnaround, Warranty and Booking

In-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned tracked, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days. Send-back postage is free and Klarna is available at checkout.

Every eligible repair includes a 12 month warranty on parts and labour whatever the age of the phone. Faults relating to our work are put right at no cost. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded.

We also repair the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Plus, with the full range on our Samsung repairs page.

Galaxy S23 Plus Repairs: Common Questions

Is the S23 Plus screen tougher than the S23 Ultra?

In practice yes, because it is flat where the Ultra is curved. On a curved panel the glass wraps around the edge so a side impact lands on active display. The flat Plus lets the frame take that hit instead, and it is also cheaper at £155 against £199, because flat panels cost less to manufacture.

Is an S23 Plus still worth repairing?

On a single repair, nearly always. A £59 battery on a sound handset buys another couple of years of a phone that still handles everything most people do. Screen plus battery together is still comfortably cheaper than replacing. Three or more separate faults, or serious liquid damage, is where the sums genuinely change.

How do I check whether my S23 Plus still gets security updates?

Settings, then Software update. It matters more to the repair decision than the hardware does, because a phone still receiving patches will keep running banking apps and stay safe online. One that has dropped off the list is fine for calls and photographs but you should know that before spending on a larger repair.

What does a vertical line on my S23 Plus mean?

It is a known hardware failure on Galaxy AMOLED panels, not a software issue. It appears with no drop and no water, frequently just after an update, and no patch has ever cleared one. The line widens over the following weeks, so it is worth acting on rather than waiting to see whether it settles.

Can you replace just one cracked camera lens on an S23 Plus?

Yes, often. This generation uses individual lens rings rather than a single shared housing, so each lens cracks on its own and can be replaced individually. That is considerably cheaper than a whole array, and it is exactly the kind of thing worth having diagnosed rather than assumed.

Do you charge for cleaning a blocked charging port?

No. Compacted lint in the USB-C socket is the most common cause of a Galaxy that will not charge, and clearing it is not a chargeable repair here. We check for it before quoting a port replacement. Try a different cable and mains plug first as well, because worn cables cause more of these faults than broken ports do.
