Galaxy S24 Repairs

The standard S24 is the Galaxy we see most of from this generation, and it is a sensible phone to keep running. A screen is £159, a battery £59, and the rest sits between the two. Everything is done at our own bench in Essex with a twelve month warranty.

Galaxy S24 Screen Replacement (£159)

An AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass and replaced as a complete assembly. There is no realistic glass-only repair on a bonded Samsung flagship panel, and an unusually cheap quote normally means a refurbished assembly rather than a new part. Worth asking whoever quotes you which they intend to fit.

• Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
• Dead zones where touch no longer registers
• Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
• Black or discoloured patches spreading over days
• Ghost touches occurring with nobody holding the phone

That third symptom is the most misdiagnosed Samsung fault we deal with. A vertical line on a Galaxy AMOLED can appear with no impact behind it, very often shortly after a software update, which convinces people it is a bug awaiting a patch. The fingerprint reader sits under the display, so a replacement panel must be seated correctly and the sensor tested afterwards. A poorly fitted screen leaves you unlocking the phone three or four times before it takes. We test it before it goes back. More on our Samsung screen repair page.

Galaxy S24 Battery Replacement (£59)

Compact flagships have less internal volume than their Plus and Ultra siblings, so the standard S24 works its battery harder than the larger models do. At £59 this is the best value repair on the phone by a comfortable margin.

• Capacity noticeably below where it started, under Settings then Battery and device care
• Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed
• Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
• The handset warm during light use
• Needing a top-up by early afternoon where it once lasted the day

Software causes look identical from the outside, so eliminate those before paying for a cell that was never the problem. Galaxy S24 Back Glass Replacement (£65)

Bonded rear glass removed with a laser separator. Attempted with heat and prying tools, the wireless charging coil sitting directly underneath rarely survives, which is why plenty of shops decline this job or quote unpredictably for it.

• Loose fragments scratch the camera lenses from behind
• The moisture seal fails as soon as the glass cracks
• Wireless charging becomes unreliable
• Trade-in value drops by more than the repair costs

Galaxy S24 Charging Repair (£65)

Before you pay for a port, let us check whether you need one. Compacted lint at the bottom of the USB-C socket stops the cable seating fully and accounts for a large share of the phones brought to us as charging faults. Clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.

Genuine failure means charging that works only at one angle, cuts out when the phone is moved, a connector that feels loose, or charging that works while data transfer refuses. Galaxy S24 Camera Repair (£79)

Camera work splits into replacing a cracked outer lens cover and replacing the module underneath, at meaningfully different costs. The rear lenses stand proud of the body, so cover glass takes the impact when the phone lands face up, and that is the cheaper outcome by a good margin.

• Cracked lens cover with the modules beneath undamaged
• Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
• Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• Ultra-wide or telephoto dead while the main lens works

Water Damage and Faults Without an Obvious Cause

The S24 carries a water resistance rating, but that rating describes the phone factory-fresh and undamaged. Once it has been dropped, or the back glass has cracked, the seal is compromised and we would not rely on it. Ratings also cover fresh water rather than sea water, which matters on this stretch of coast.

Anything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you go ahead. Random restarts, signal loss, distorted audio and unexplained drain all sit here, and phone keeps restarting is a good first read.

Turnaround, Warranty and Booking

We see enough S24 handsets to keep parts moving, so in-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned by tracked delivery, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days. Every eligible repair includes a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. Faults relating to our work are put right at no cost. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded.
