Galaxy S21 Ultra Repairs

The S21 Ultra was the first S-series phone to support the S Pen, though without a silo to store it in, and it remains a genuinely capable handset. Prices are now very reasonable: screen £149, camera £69, back glass £59, battery £55, charging £55, diagnostics £15.

Galaxy S21 Ultra Battery Replacement (£55)

On a phone of this age this is the repair that decides whether it stays in service, and at £55 it is easily the best money you can spend on one. A large, bright, high refresh display draws steadily, and most S21 Ultras have enough charge cycles behind them now that capacity is well down.

• Capacity noticeably below where it started, under Settings then Battery and device care
• Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed, worse in cold weather
• Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
• The handset warm during undemanding use
• Needing a charger by mid-afternoon where it once lasted the day

Galaxy S21 Ultra Screen Replacement (£149)

A large curved AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass, replaced as a complete assembly. The curved edges are the weak point on this generation: on a flat display a side impact meets the frame, but on a curved one the glass wraps around the edge, so there is active display exactly where the phone lands.

• Cracks running along or from a curved edge
• Dead zones where touch no longer registers
• Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
• Black or discoloured patches spreading over days
• Ghost touches, which curved panels are particularly prone to after damage

The vertical green line is worth taking seriously on this era of Galaxy. It appears with no drop, no water and no obvious cause, very often within days of a software update, and owners reasonably assume a patch will fix it. It will not. It is a hardware failure in the panel, it widens over weeks, and the only remedy is a new display. Read phone screen flickering if that matches yours.

Galaxy S21 Ultra Camera Repair (£69)

The S21 Ultra introduced the wraparound camera housing that flows into the frame, and it carries a long optical zoom using a folded lens arrangement sitting differently to a conventional module. Alignment matters, so it is not a routine swap.

• Cracked outer lens cover with the modules beneath undamaged
• Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
• Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• The zoom lens dead while the main and ultra-wide still work

Galaxy S21 Ultra Rear Panel Replacement (£59)

The rear panel is bonded to the frame and removed with a laser separator rather than heat and prying tools. The wireless charging coil sits directly beneath and rarely survives an improvised attempt, which is why plenty of shops decline this job.

• Loose fragments scratch the camera lenses from behind
• The moisture seal fails as soon as the panel cracks
• Wireless charging becomes intermittent
• Sharp edges are a genuine nuisance in daily use

Galaxy S21 Ultra Charging Repair (£55)

On a phone of this age expect a USB-C socket well packed with compacted lint, which is frequently the whole problem rather than a failed port. Clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.

Genuine failure means charging at one angle only, cutting out when the phone moves, or a connector that feels loose. Try another cable and mains plug, then read why a phone will not charge. Our Samsung charging repair page covers the work.

S Pen Support Without a Silo

Worth knowing if you use a stylus with yours. The S21 Ultra supports the S Pen but has nowhere to store it, so the pen lives in a case or a pocket and gets lost or damaged far more often than a Note-style pen ever did.

Because there is no silo, there is also no silo to fail, which removes one common fault from this model. If the pen has stopped registering on screen, the issue is usually the pen itself or the digitiser layer in the display rather than any storage mechanism. Bring the pen with the phone and we will test both.

Water Damage and Unclear Faults

The S21 Ultra has a water resistance rating, but that describes the phone factory-fresh and undamaged, and on a handset this age the seals have long since degraded. Ratings also cover fresh water rather than sea water, which matters anywhere near the coast.

Liquid damage is assessed rather than quoted. See phone water damage repair, and phone data recovery if the contents matter more than the handset. Anything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you proceed, and phone keeps restarting is a sensible first read.

In-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned tracked, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days.
