How long will my Pixel 8 Pro keep getting software updates?
Google committed to seven years of operating system and security updates for the Pixel 8 generation, which is the longest support promise any mainstream Android phone has carried. A handset bought at launch will still be receiving security patches well into the next decade. That is the strongest single argument for repairing rather than replacing one, because the software will not be what retires the phone.
Is the Pixel 8 Pro screen tougher than the Pixel 7 Pro?

My Pixel 8 Pro temperature sensor has stopped working. Is that a camera repair?
No, it is a separate component. The Pixel 8 Pro is the only Pixel with a temperature sensor set into the camera bar alongside the lenses, and it can fail independently of the cameras themselves. If your photographs are fine but the temperature reading is not, that points at the sensor rather than a camera module. We diagnose and quote it individually.
Will a Pixel 8 Pro screen replacement affect the fingerprint reader?
Not when it is fitted properly. The fingerprint sensor sits beneath the display, so the replacement panel must be seated precisely and the sensor tested afterwards.
