iPhone 13 Pro Repairs at Our Southend Workshop

The 13 Pro was the phone that brought a 120Hz ProMotion display to iPhone for the first time, and anyone who has used one struggles to go back. That smoothness is a large part of why owners hold onto these rather than trading up, and at £139 for a screen it makes sense to.

It was also the compact Pro, which matters for how it breaks. Smaller handsets are used one-handed far more often, and one-handed use is how phones end up on pavements. Screen damage dominates what we see on this model.

All work is carried out in-house at Essex with a twelve month warranty.

Screen Replacement (£139)

A bonded OLED ProMotion panel beneath Ceramic Shield glass, fitted as a single assembly. It is worth using a quality part on this model specifically, because a cheap replacement that does not properly support the variable refresh rate turns the 13 Pro back into an ordinary phone. That is the main thing we would want you to check whoever you use.

• Cracks radiating from the impact point, usually a corner
• Dead zones where the touchscreen ignores input
• Green or pink vertical lines after a drop
• Black patches bleeding outwards over several days
• Ghost touches happening with nobody holding the phone

Check first whether the phone still rings and vibrates with a dark screen, since a dislodged display connector is far cheaper than a panel and we test for it before quoting. For screen faults with no impact history, read phone screen flickering.

Battery Replacement (£65)

A high refresh display asks more of a battery than a fixed 60Hz one, and after four years most 13 Pro handsets have the capacity to show for it. At £65 this is the repair that makes the phone usable again rather than something you top up twice a day.

• Maximum capacity below 80 percent in Settings, Battery, Battery Health
• Abrupt shutdowns with charge still displayed
• Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
• Warmth during light use
• Needing a charger by lunchtime

Back Glass Replacement (£70)

Structurally bonded rear glass, removed with a laser separator. On a phone of this age the adhesive has had years to cure fully, which makes clean removal harder than on a newer handset and is one reason we would steer you away from anyone offering to do it with a heat gun.

• Loose fragments scratch the camera lenses from behind
• The moisture seal fails the moment the glass cracks
• MagSafe and wireless charging become intermittent
• Resale value drops by more than the repair costs

Charging Repair (£59)

Lightning generation, and by now these ports have seen four or more years of daily insertions. The contacts wear, so the cable clicks in and feels secure while the connection itself has become unreliable. Charging that works when you press the cable and stops when you release it is the classic sign.

Before that, though, expect years of accumulated lint compacted into the socket. On phones this age it is frequently the whole problem. We clean and test before quoting a port replacement. Camera Repair (£65)

The 13 Pro introduced macro photography to iPhone, which relies on the ultra-wide lens. That is worth knowing when diagnosing, because an owner reporting that macro has stopped working is usually describing an ultra-wide fault rather than a general camera problem.

• Cracked outer lens cover with the module beneath intact
• Blurry images across every mode after a drop
• Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• Macro or ultra-wide failing while the main lens works

Face ID and Front Sensor Faults

The TrueDepth array behind the notch drives Face ID, and on handsets this age failures come from wear and from liquid ingress the owner may have forgotten. Failure to enrol a new face, repeated failures in low light, or Face ID reporting itself unavailable all point that way.

The honest caveat is the same across every model: Face ID is paired to the logic board at manufacture, so a damaged TrueDepth module cannot be swapped in from another phone and made to work. A torn or disconnected flex cable can be repaired. We establish which you have before quoting.

Water Damage and Unexplained Faults

Anything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you go ahead. Phone keeps restarting and phone overheating are sensible starting points.

Turnaround, Warranty and Booking

In-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned by tracked delivery, most customers seeing their phone within two to three working days. Send-back postage is free and Klarna is available at checkout.

All eligible repairs carry a 12 month warranty on parts and labour regardless of the phone’s age. Faults relating to our work are put right at no cost. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded.
