iPhone 15 Plus Repairs: Big Screen, Standard Prices

Here is something worth knowing before you get quoted elsewhere. We charge the same for an iPhone 15 Plus screen as we do for the standard iPhone 15, £159, despite the Plus panel being substantially larger. Some shops apply a premium for the bigger display. On this generation we do not, because the parts cost does not justify it.

The Plus exists for one reason above all others: endurance. It is the model people buy when they are tired of hunting for a charger, and that shapes which repairs it actually needs. Battery complaints on a Plus tend to arrive later than on other models, but land harder when they do, because owners have grown used to genuinely excellent battery life.

Everything below is done at our Essex repair centre with a twelve month warranty.

Screen Replacement (£159)

A bonded OLED panel under Ceramic Shield glass, replaced as a complete assembly. Larger displays flex more across their length during an impact, which is why Plus handsets frequently crack from an edge rather than the corner that smaller phones land on.

• Cracks running from an edge or corner impact point
• Dead areas where touch input stops registering
• Green, pink or white vertical lines after a drop
• Dark patches bleeding outwards over several days
• Ghost touch inputs the phone generates on its own

The Plus is a genuinely two-handed phone for most people, and the drops that break them tend to happen mid-task rather than from pocket height. That usually means a harder landing and a more comprehensive crack. Even so, check whether the phone still rings and vibrates with a dark screen, because a dislodged display connector is a far cheaper fix and we test for it first. Battery Replacement (£75)

This is where the Plus story gets interesting. It ships with one of the largest batteries Apple fits outside the Pro Max, so owners spend two years never thinking about charging. When capacity finally drops, the change feels dramatic even though the phone is only behaving like a normal handset.

• Maximum capacity below 80 percent under Settings, Battery, Battery Health
• Endurance suddenly feeling ordinary rather than exceptional
• Abrupt shutdowns with charge still on the meter
• Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
• The handset warm during light use

Back Glass Replacement (£79)

Structurally bonded rear glass, removed with a laser separator. The Plus has a larger bonded surface area than the standard 15, which makes clean removal harder and is exactly why so many shops turn the job away or quote wildly for it.

• Fragments work loose and scratch the camera lenses from behind
• The moisture seal fails the moment the glass breaks
• MagSafe and wireless charging become intermittent
• Resale value drops further than the repair costs

Charging Repair (£59)

This generation moved the standard and Plus models to USB-C, and many owners still charge through Lightning adapters left over from older phones. Adapters apply leverage to the port that a direct cable does not, and on a heavier handset like the Plus that leverage is greater still.

Even so, check the simple thing first. Compacted lint at the base of the socket stops the cable seating and accounts for most charging complaints we see. Real port failure means charging at one angle only, cutting out when the phone is moved, a loose connector, or charging that works while data transfer refuses. Camera Repair (£69)

Camera repairs split into cracked lens cover and failed module, at very different costs. Because the rear array protrudes from the body, the cover glass takes the impact when the phone lands face up, and on a heavier handset it takes more of it.

• Cracked lens cover with an undamaged module beneath
• Blurry images in every shooting mode after a drop
• Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• Ultra-wide dead while the main lens works

Water Damage and Faults Needing Diagnosis

Liquid damage is never quoted before the phone is open. Corrosion spreads unpredictably and a handset that powers on today can fail next week. Our iPhone water damage repair page sets out how we handle it, and phone data recovery is there when the contents matter more than the handset.

Everything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you proceed. Restarts, signal loss, distorted audio and unexplained drain all sit in this bracket. Start with phone keeps restarting or phone overheating.

Turnaround, Cover and Booking

In-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving at the workshop and returned tracked, with most customers receiving the phone in two to three working days. All eligible repairs include a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. Faults relating to our work are put right at no cost. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded, and third party work afterwards voids the cover.
