The iPhone We Repair Most Often

The standard iPhone 16 outsells every Pro model, so it is the handset that comes across our bench more than any other. That has a practical benefit for you: we stock parts for it, we know its quirks, and most 16 repairs are turned around the same day without anything being ordered in.

It also means we have a good sense of what actually breaks on this model rather than what a parts catalogue suggests might. Screens first, by a wide margin. Batteries second, and increasingly so as these handsets pass their second birthday. Charging complaints third, most of which turn out not to need a repair at all.

Everything below is carried out at our Essex repair centre and covered for twelve months.

iPhone 16 Screen Replacement (£179)

The panel is an OLED display bonded to Ceramic Shield glass and supplied as one assembly, so cracked glass means a full replacement. This is the repair we quote most often, and at £179 it remains a small fraction of what the handset is worth.

• Cracks spreading from the point of impact
• Regions of the screen that no longer respond to touch
• Green or pink lines running down the display
• Black patches that grow larger day by day
• Ghost touches happening without any input

A useful check before booking: if the phone still rings and vibrates but the screen stays dark, the display connector may simply have come loose in the drop. That is a considerably cheaper fix, and we look for it first rather than quoting a panel by default. For screen problems with no impact behind them, phone screen flickering is a sensible read.

iPhone 16 Battery Replacement (£95)

Battery capacity falls as charge cycles accumulate, and iPhone 16 handsets are now at the age where owners start noticing. Check yours in Settings, then Battery, then Battery Health and Charging before assuming anything.

• Maximum capacity below 80 percent
• Shutdowns at 20 or 30 percent, worse in cold weather
• Charge dropping in sudden jumps
• The phone warm during undemanding use
• Not lasting the day when it comfortably used to

A surprising number of suspected battery faults are software. iPhone 16 Back Glass Replacement (£99)

Bonded rear glass, removed with a laser separator rather than heat. Plenty of shops decline this repair or quote unpredictably for it, because without the right equipment the wireless charging coil and MagSafe magnets underneath tend not to survive removal.

Worth fixing rather than ignoring:

• Fragments work loose and scratch the camera lenses from inside
• The moisture seal is broken as soon as the glass cracks
• Wireless and MagSafe charging start cutting out
• Trade-in value drops by more than the repair costs

iPhone 16 Charging Repair (£89)

Most iPhone 16 handsets brought to us for charging problems do not need a new port. They need the lint compacted at the bottom of the USB-C socket removed so the cable can seat. We check that before anything else and will tell you if that is all it was.

Real port failure looks like charging that works at only one angle, drops out when the phone is moved, a socket that feels loose, or charging that works while data transfer does not. iPhone 16 Camera Repair (£99)

The 16 brought the Camera Control to the standard model, which is worth remembering when diagnosing a camera problem. A phone that will not open the Camera app is not necessarily suffering a camera fault at all.

• Soft or blurry images across every mode after a drop
• Rattling or grinding as stabilisation fails
• Cracked lens cover with a healthy module underneath
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• One lens working while the other does not

Water Damage and Faults We Need to Look At

Liquid damage is assessed rather than quoted. Corrosion spreads at its own rate and an honest answer only comes after the board has been opened and cleaned. Anything else unexplained carries a £15 diagnostic that comes off the repair if you proceed. Random restarts, no signal, distorted speakers and drain with no obvious cause all sit in this bracket. Phone keeps restarting and phone overheating are reasonable first reads.

Turnaround, Warranty and Booking

Because we stock iPhone 16 parts, in-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned by tracked delivery, most customers seeing their phone again within two to three working days. Every eligible repair includes a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. Faults arising from our work are put right at no cost. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded, and third party work afterwards voids the cover.
