This is the repair the A14 needs more than any other, and at £49 it is a straightforward decision.

• Not lasting the day where it once managed comfortably
• Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed, worse in cold weather
• Charge dropping in large steps rather than smoothly

On a phone with this much memory, slowness is very often a storage problem rather than a battery one. Replaced as a complete assembly. The A14 was sold in more than one configuration, so the first thing we do is confirm which panel yours takes, and it is worth checking under Settings, then About phone, before ringing round for quotes anywhere.

• Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
• Dead zones where touch no longer registers
• Coloured lines or black bleeding on AMOLED versions
• White blotches or backlight failure on LCD versions
• Ghost touches occurring with nobody holding the phone

That backlight symptom is worth knowing about because it saves phones from the bin. If your A14 appears completely dead but you can make out the home screen when you shine a torch at it, the phone is working perfectly and only the backlight has failed. The Fingerprint Reader Is in the Power Button

Like most budget A-series phones, the A14 puts its fingerprint sensor in the side-mounted power button rather than under the display.

• A screen replacement has no effect on it whatsoever
• No screen protector can ever interfere with it
• It reads wet or cold fingers better than an in-display sensor
• If it fails it is a separate, cheaper job than anything involving the panel

Before booking, re-register the fingerprint and make sure a thick case is not stopping your thumb reaching the button squarely. Those two account for most sensor complaints on this model and both are free to try.

Most charging problems on budget handsets are compacted lint in the USB-C socket rather than a failed port, and clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.
