Galaxy A15 Repairs from £49
The A15 sold in very large numbers and it is one of the budget Samsungs we see most. Screen £65, and rear panel, camera, battery and charging all £49.
Samsung gave this phone an AMOLED display, which at this price is close to unheard of. That single fact drives most of the advice here: the screen is genuinely good, so keeping the phone going usually beats replacing it with something cheaper that will look worse.
Galaxy A15 Battery Replacement (£49)
This is the repair most A15s need, and at £49 it is an easy decision on a phone still worth meaningfully more than that.
- Capacity noticeably below where it started, under Settings then Battery and device care
- Not lasting the day where it once managed comfortably
- Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed, particularly in cold weather
- Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
- The phone feeling slow as well as short on charge
That last symptom deserves separating out on a budget phone. Slowness on an A15 is often a memory problem rather than a battery one, because these handsets carry far less RAM than a flagship and apps reload from scratch every time you switch. Before assuming the battery, restart the phone and clear out apps you never use. If it speeds up, the battery was not your problem. Our guide on why a phone battery drains so fast covers the rest, and Samsung battery replacement lists pricing.
The Fingerprint Reader Is in the Power Button
The A15 puts its fingerprint sensor in the side-mounted power button rather than under the display, and that is a genuine advantage when something goes wrong.
- A screen replacement has no effect on it at all
- No screen protector can interfere with it
- It reads wet or cold fingers better than an in-display sensor
- If it fails it is a separate, cheaper job than anything involving the panel
Before booking, re-register the fingerprint and check that a thick case is not stopping your thumb reaching the button squarely. Those two things account for most of the sensor complaints we see on this model, and both cost nothing.
Galaxy A15 Screen Replacement (£65)
An AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass, replaced as a complete assembly. At £65 for an AMOLED screen this is one of the best value repairs on our entire list.
- Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
- Dead zones where touch no longer registers
- Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
- Black or discoloured patches spreading over days
- Ghost touches occurring with nobody holding the phone
The vertical line is a known Galaxy AMOLED hardware failure appearing with no drop and no water, often shortly after a software update. It is not a bug, it widens over weeks, and no patch will clear it. Read phone screen flickering, and see our Samsung screen repair page.
Galaxy A15 Charging Repair (£49)
Most charging problems on budget handsets are compacted lint in the USB-C socket rather than a failed port. Clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.
Genuine failure means charging that works only at one angle, cuts out when the phone is moved, or a connector that feels loose. Change the cable and mains plug first, because worn cheap cables are the single commonest cause. Then read why a phone will not charge. Our Samsung charging repair page covers the replacement.
Galaxy A15 Rear Panel Replacement (£49)
A composite rear panel rather than glass, which cracks or scuffs rather than shattering and survives drops that would ruin a glass-backed phone.
- Cracks and deep scuffs rather than spidering across the whole back
- Debris able to reach the camera lenses from behind
- Sharp edges where a panel has split
- Panels lifting at a corner after a hard drop
Our cracked back glass guide covers bonded rear panels generally.
Galaxy A15 Camera Repair (£49)
Separate lens rings set into the rear panel rather than a raised block, so damage stays confined to one ring rather than the whole array.
- Cracked lens cover on one lens with the others undamaged
- Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
- Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
- Focus hunting continuously without settling
- The camera app slow to open, which is usually memory rather than hardware
Where nothing was dropped, phone camera not working covers the software checks.
Getting More Life Out of a Budget Phone
Because these handsets have less memory and slower storage than a flagship, a few habits make a real difference to how they age. None of them cost anything.
- Uninstall apps you have not opened in months rather than leaving them dormant
- Restart the phone properly once a week, which clears memory far better than locking the screen
- Keep at least a few gigabytes of storage free, because a nearly full phone slows dramatically
- Turn off background data for apps that do not need it
- Charge with a decent cable, since worn cheap ones damage ports over time
We mention this because a good number of the A15s brought to us as faulty are simply full and cluttered. If a restart and a clear-out fixes yours, that is a better outcome than a repair, and we would rather tell you than take the booking.
Water Damage and Whether to Repair
The A15 has no meaningful water resistance, so treat it as unsealed. Liquid damage is assessed rather than quoted, and at this price the honest answer is sometimes that repair does not add up.
We will say so plainly rather than taking your money to establish it. In that case phone data recovery is often what genuinely helps. See phone water damage repair for how we assess these. Anything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you proceed, and phone keeps restarting is a good first read.
Turnaround, Warranty and Booking
In-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned tracked, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days. Send-back postage is free and Klarna is available at checkout.
Every eligible repair includes a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded.

We also repair the Galaxy A16, Galaxy A14 and Galaxy A13, with the full range on our Samsung repairs page.
Galaxy A15 Repairs: Getting More Life From It
Is my A15 slow because of the battery or something else?
On a budget phone, usually something else. The A15 carries far less RAM than a flagship, so apps reload from scratch every time you switch, and a nearly full phone crawls regardless of battery health. Restart it properly and clear out apps you never open first. If it speeds up, the battery was not your problem.
What can I do to make an A15 last longer?
Keep several gigabytes of storage free, uninstall apps you have not opened in months, restart it properly once a week rather than just locking the screen, move photographs off to cloud storage, and use a decent charging cable because worn cheap ones damage ports over time. None of that costs anything and all of it helps.
Where is the fingerprint reader on an A15?
In the side-mounted power button rather than under the display, which is genuinely better at repair time. A screen replacement has no effect on it, no screen protector can interfere with it, and it reads wet or cold fingers better than an in-display sensor. If it fails it is a separate cheaper job than a panel.
My A15 fingerprint reader has stopped working. What should I try?
Re-register the fingerprint, and check that a thick case is not stopping your thumb reaching the power button squarely. Those two account for most of the sensor complaints we get on side-mounted readers, and both are free. Genuine failures are the button assembly or its flex cable, which we quote individually.
Is £65 good value for an AMOLED screen?
It is one of the best value repairs on our entire list. Samsung fitting AMOLED at this price is unusual, and a £65 replacement keeps a genuinely good display in service. Replacing the whole phone with something cheaper from another brand would almost certainly mean a worse screen.
Is an A15 worth repairing?
On a battery at £49 or a charging fault, yes without much hesitation. A £65 screen on an otherwise sound phone is also reasonable. Liquid damage is where it stops adding up at this price, and we will say so plainly rather than taking your money to establish it.
