Galaxy Note 20 Repairs

The Note 20 was the last Galaxy Note. Samsung folded the line into the S-series Ultra afterwards, so if you own one you are holding the end of a fifteen year run, and a lot of Note owners keep them for exactly that reason.

Galaxy Note 20 S Pen and Silo Repairs

The S Pen is the entire reason to own a Note, so it goes first. The silo is a hole cut through an otherwise sealed chassis, which makes it a known route for dust and moisture, and the assembly wears from thousands of insertions.

• The pen no longer registering on screen at all
• The pen failing to eject, or sitting loose in the silo
• The phone no longer detecting the pen being removed
• Bluetooth pen features failing while writing still works, or the reverse
• Pressure sensitivity gone, so every stroke draws the same weight

That fourth symptom is worth understanding. The Note 20 pen has its own battery and Bluetooth radio for air gestures and remote shutter, entirely separate from the digitiser that reads writing. So a pen that writes fine but will not act as a camera remote is usually a pen battery or pairing problem rather than anything wrong with the phone. Bring the pen in with the handset so we can test both together, and we quote silo work individually after a diagnostic.

Galaxy Note 20 Screen Replacement (£139)

An AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass, replaced as a complete assembly. On a Note the digitiser that reads the S Pen is part of that assembly, which is why a cracked screen sometimes takes pen input with it even where touch still works.

• Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
• Dead zones where touch no longer registers
• Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
• Black or discoloured patches spreading over days
• The S Pen failing across part of the screen after an impact

The vertical green line is a well known Galaxy AMOLED failure of this era that appears with no drop and no water, often just after a software update. It is hardware, it widens over weeks, and no patch clears it. Galaxy Note 20 Battery Replacement (£59)

On a phone of this age this is the repair that decides whether it stays in daily service, and at £59 it is the best money you can spend on one.

• Capacity noticeably below where it started, under Settings then Battery and device care
• Lasting a few hours where it once managed a day
• Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed, worse in cold weather
• Charge dropping in large steps rather than smoothly
• The handset warm during light use

Galaxy Note 20 Camera Repair (£79)

The Note 20 carries a large raised camera housing that stands well proud of the body, so it is the first thing to make contact when the phone lands face up. Cracked cover glass over undamaged modules is common and far cheaper to fix than it looks.

• Cracked lens cover with the modules beneath undamaged
• Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
• Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• The zoom lens dead while the main and ultra-wide still work

Galaxy Note 20 Back Glass Replacement (£59)

Bonded rear panel removed with a laser separator rather than heat and prying tools. The wireless charging coil sits directly beneath and will not survive an improvised attempt.

• Loose fragments scratch the camera lenses from behind
• The moisture seal fails as soon as the panel cracks
• Wireless charging becomes unreliable
• Sharp edges are a genuine nuisance in daily use

Galaxy Note 20 Charging Repair (£55)

On a phone of this age expect a USB-C socket well packed with compacted lint, which is frequently the entire problem rather than a failed port. Clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.

Genuine failure means charging at one angle only, cutting out when the phone moves, or a connector that feels loose. Try another cable and mains plug, then read why a phone will not charge. Our Samsung charging repair page covers the work.

Water Damage and Unclear Faults

The Note 20 has a water resistance rating, but ratings describe a phone factory-fresh and undamaged, and the S Pen silo is a genuine weak point on any Note. On a handset of this age treat the seals as degraded. Ratings also cover fresh water rather than sea water.

Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned tracked, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days.
