Galaxy S25 Repairs
The standard S25 is the Galaxy we see most of, and it is the cheapest of the S25 line to keep running. A screen is £179 against £279 for the Ultra and £299 for the Edge, and battery, camera and charging work are all priced sensibly on top of that.
Everything is carried out at our own bench in Essex, with a twelve month warranty on parts and labour.
Galaxy S25 Screen Replacement (£179)
An AMOLED panel bonded beneath toughened glass and replaced as a complete assembly. There is no realistic glass-only repair on a bonded Samsung flagship panel, and a quote that sounds unusually low generally means a refurbished assembly rather than a new part. It is worth asking whoever quotes you which they are fitting.
- Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
- Dead zones where touch no longer registers
- Vertical green, pink or white lines down the panel
- Black or discoloured patches spreading over days
- Ghost touches occurring with nobody holding the phone
The vertical line symptom deserves attention because it is so widely misdiagnosed. A line appearing on a Galaxy AMOLED with no drop behind it is a recognised panel failure across the range, and it frequently appears shortly after a software update, which convinces people it is a bug awaiting a patch. It is not. It is hardware, it spreads, and no update will clear it. If that describes yours, read phone screen flickering and then bring the phone in.
The fingerprint reader sits under the display, so a replacement panel must be correctly seated and the sensor tested afterwards. A badly fitted screen leaves you unlocking the phone three or four times before it takes. We test it before it goes back to you. More on our Samsung screen repair page.
Galaxy S25 Battery Replacement (£65)
Compact flagships have less internal volume than their Plus and Ultra siblings, so the standard S25 works its battery harder than the larger models do. At £65 this is comfortably the best value repair on the phone.
- Capacity noticeably below where it started, under Settings then Battery and device care
- Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed
- Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
- The handset warm during light use
- Needing a top-up by early afternoon where it once lasted the day
Software causes look identical from outside, so eliminate those first rather than paying for a cell that was never the problem. Our guide on why a phone battery drains so fast covers them in order, and Samsung battery replacement lists pricing across the range. If the phone runs hot as well, read phone overheating.
Galaxy S25 Back Glass Replacement (£69)
Bonded rear glass removed with a laser separator. Attempted with heat and prying tools, the wireless charging coil sitting directly underneath rarely survives, which is why plenty of shops either decline this job or quote unpredictably for it.
- Loose fragments scratch the camera lenses from behind
- The moisture seal fails as soon as the glass cracks
- Wireless charging becomes unreliable
- Trade-in value drops by more than the repair costs
Our cracked back glass guide explains why the kits sold online tend to make things worse.
Galaxy S25 Charging Repair (£59)
Before you pay for a port, let us check whether you need one. Compacted lint at the bottom of the USB-C socket stops the cable seating fully and accounts for a large share of the phones brought to us as charging faults. Clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.
Genuine failure means charging that works only at one angle, cuts out when the phone is moved, a connector that feels loose, or charging that works while data transfer refuses. Try a different cable and mains plug first, then read why a phone will not charge. Our Samsung charging repair page covers the replacement.
Galaxy S25 Camera Repair (£79)
Camera work splits into replacing a cracked outer lens cover and replacing the module underneath, at meaningfully different costs. The rear array stands proud of the body, so cover glass takes the impact when the phone lands face up, and that is the cheaper outcome by a good margin.
- Cracked lens cover with the modules beneath undamaged
- Blurry images across every shooting mode after a drop
- Rattling or grinding as optical stabilisation fails
- Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
- Ultra-wide or telephoto dead while the main lens works
We always establish which you actually need rather than defaulting to the expensive option. Where nothing was dropped, phone camera not working covers the software checks worth trying first.
Water Damage and Faults Without an Obvious Cause
The S25 carries a water resistance rating, but that rating describes the phone factory-fresh and undamaged. Once it has been dropped, or the back glass has cracked, the seal is compromised and we would not rely on it. Ratings also cover fresh water, not sea water, which is worth knowing on this stretch of coast.
Liquid damage is assessed rather than quoted. Corrosion spreads unpredictably and the honest answer only comes once the board is open and cleaned. See phone water damage repair for our approach, and phone data recovery if what you need is the contents rather than the handset.
Anything else unclear carries a £15 diagnostic, deducted from the repair if you go ahead. Random restarts, signal loss, distorted audio and unexplained drain all sit here, and phone keeps restarting is a good first read.
Turnaround, Warranty and Booking
We see enough S25 handsets to keep parts moving, so in-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned by tracked delivery, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days. Send-back postage is free and Klarna is available at checkout.
Every eligible repair includes a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. Faults relating to our work are put right at no cost. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded.
Book online through our Essex repair centre page, call 07939 990557, or contact us.
We also repair the Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Ultra and Galaxy S25 FE, with the full range on our Samsung repairs page.
Galaxy S25 Repairs: Common Questions
How can I tell if my S25 screen fault is hardware or software?
A crack, a dead touch zone or spreading black patches are always hardware. A vertical green or pink line with no drop behind it is also hardware, despite usually appearing just after an update. Genuine software issues cause flickering, unresponsiveness or odd colours that a restart or safe mode resolves. If a restart changes nothing, it is the panel.
Why is the S25 screen cheaper than the S25 Plus?
Purely size. A £179 S25 panel against £199 for the Plus reflects the smaller display, and larger OLED panels cost more to manufacture. The compact model is also less likely to need one, because a shorter chassis flexes less during an impact and cracks from a corner rather than along an edge.
Does a compact flagship work its battery harder?
Yes. The standard S25 has less internal volume than the Plus or Ultra, so it carries a smaller cell driving a display of similar quality. That means degradation shows up sooner in practice. At £65 the battery is the cheapest repair on the phone and usually the one that makes the biggest difference to daily use.
Do you fit genuine or aftermarket S25 screens?
We will tell you exactly what is going into your phone before we start rather than leaving you to guess. If an unusually cheap quote elsewhere sounds too good on a bonded Samsung flagship panel, it generally means a refurbished assembly. Ask whoever quotes you which they intend to fit. Every part we fit carries our 12 month warranty.
Is the S25 water resistance still valid after a repair?
We reseal during reassembly, but no third party repair restores a factory water resistance rating and we will not pretend otherwise. It is also worth knowing that ratings describe a phone factory-fresh and undamaged, tested in fresh water. A drop that has broken the seal or a cracked back panel compromises it regardless of any repair.
Can lint really stop an S25 charging?
It is the single most common cause we see. Pocket lint compacts into the bottom of the USB-C socket and stops the cable seating fully, so the phone charges intermittently or not at all. Clearing it is not a chargeable repair here, and we check for it before quoting a port. Try a different cable and plug first as well.
