Galaxy A05s Repairs from £45

The A05s is the slightly better version of the A05, with a larger display and a bit more capability, and it is priced accordingly. Screen £59, and rear panel, camera, battery and charging all £45, which makes it one of the cheapest phones on our whole list to repair.

Worth confirming which one you have before ringing round anywhere. The A05 and A05s are different phones with different parts despite the near-identical name, and a quote for one does not apply to the other. Settings, then About phone, will tell you in seconds.

Galaxy A05s Battery Replacement (£45)

At £45 this is the cheapest battery replacement we offer on any Samsung, and it is comfortably the most worthwhile thing you can do to an A05s.

• Capacity noticeably below where it started, under Settings then Battery and device care
• Not lasting the day where it once managed comfortably
• Sudden shutdowns with charge still displayed, worse in cold weather
• Charge dropping in steps rather than smoothly
• The phone feeling slow as well as short on charge

On a phone with this much memory, slowness is far more often storage than battery. The A05s fills up quickly and a nearly full handset crawls no matter how healthy the cell is. Free several gigabytes and restart properly before assuming hardware, because that fixes it for nothing more often than people expect. Check Your Warranty First

The A05s is recent enough that plenty are still inside their manufacturer warranty, and that is worth two minutes before booking anything with us.

• Manufacturer warranty covers faults, never accidental damage
• A cracked screen is never covered, so bring that straight to us
• A battery failing this early may well be Samsung’s responsibility
• A charging port that stopped working with no damage might be covered
• Liquid damage is never covered by anyone’s warranty

We would rather send you for a free manufacturer repair than take your money. Come to us for damage, for anything out of warranty, or when you want the phone back the same day.

Galaxy A05s Screen Replacement (£59)

An LCD panel bonded beneath toughened glass, replaced as a complete assembly. The A05s screen is large for the money, which is one reason people choose it over the standard A05.

• Cracks radiating from a corner or edge impact
• Dead zones where touch no longer registers
• White or bright blotches rather than black bleeding
• Backlight failure, leaving a faint image visible under a torch
• Ghost touches occurring with nobody holding the phone

Shine a torch at it before writing the phone off. If the A05s looks completely dead but the home screen is faintly visible under a bright light, the handset is working perfectly and only the backlight has failed. Everything on it is intact. That is a screen replacement, not a dead phone, and on a handset this cheap the distinction genuinely decides whether it goes in the bin. Galaxy A05s Charging Repair (£45)

Most charging complaints on budget handsets are compacted lint in the USB-C socket rather than a failed port, and clearing it is not a chargeable repair here.

Genuine failure means charging that works only at one angle, cuts out when the phone is moved, or a connector that feels loose. Change the cable and mains plug first. A composite rear panel rather than glass, which cracks or scuffs rather than shattering into fragments and survives drops far better than a glass back would.

• Debris able to reach the camera lenses from behind

A simple rear lens arrangement set into the panel, which keeps repairs cheap and damage confined to one area.

• Cracked lens cover with the module beneath undamaged
• Blurry images, which is very frequently just a dirty lens
• Camera app opening black or crashing on launch
• Focus hunting continuously without settling
• The camera app slow to open, which on this phone is nearly always memory

Water Damage and Data Recovery

Treat the A05s as completely unsealed. Liquid damage is assessed rather than quoted, is never covered by any warranty, and at this price is frequently not economic to repair.

Turnaround, Warranty and Booking

In-store repairs are usually completed within one to three hours on the same day and you are welcome to wait. Mail-in repairs are typically finished within eight to twelve hours of arriving and returned tracked, most customers seeing their phone in two to three working days. Send-back postage is free.

Every eligible repair includes a 12 month warranty on parts and labour. The cheapest phone we repair gets exactly the same twelve months as a folding flagship, which we think is rather the point. New accidental damage, liquid damage and unrelated faults are excluded.
